different countries had different rules for different years, hes said that its single taillight, but did sa 59 buses have a dual fitment set up so like in usa the brake light flashes as the indicator? if not are they twin light or run semaphores?

In the old days only fully imported cars could run with flashing stop light.
All local built cars had to have duel systems, so we had the standard small tail light, with duel globe for parks and stop.
Indicators on these cars where with semaphores

So yes the local built cars and buses had semaphores

No SA double cabs had semaphores. Even the 59s were ahead of their time with nipples in front and dual filament taillights. AFAIK they were full import in 59.
