Hi Volks
Join me tonight in watching Chip Foose and his "A" team butcher and hack yet another ACVW into submission.
This time around, its a 1965 Volkswagen Beetle, on the receiving end.
Discovery Channel 121, at 21h25

Seems the only improvement Mr Foose can make to a VW is to move light and emblem positions. remember the bus a few years ago.
Those rear lights are really really wrong and swopping the bonnet handle for the badge..... Major change bru.
As usual the work is of good std and the paint is well done but two tone: that went out in the 50's man.... But then again Chip is known for two tones

The build did not run 100% to plan, the reveal was delayed due to motor issues, and was actually only driven a week after the actual reveal due to the motor having to be rebuilt. Some egg on AJ's face for that, but obviously no mention of it.
A lot of behind the scene stuff never comes to light.

I was looking at the engine build and I was thinking 2 things.........damn it looks neat and damn there is no ways that they are going to just bolt on, install and forgetaboutit.
Overall, I like what he did with it. Not a huge fan of the two tone as well as no bumpers, but i keep on getting the feeling that he should stick to american muscle and leave the classics.
I could be worse, pimp my ride could of gotten a hold of it.

Do not like the way that guy works, how he does it, the quality of his work, or the parts that he uses,
BUT,.... you can not fault his design ability, and the
LOOK of his final product. (granted, nobody want to buy it but whatever....)

No, I think you do not under stand him, had he worked for someone like VW or Porsche.
We would have stylish cars, just as the Americans have now.
Oh what we have missed.......
