I am busy with negotiations for a type 3 squareback in EC yes quite a drive but as you all know i have been looking for one for years...
Now i quite like this one alot she needs alot of tlc but the owner has got palers its 4 years behind its license but he says he thinks she is scrapped ?!? So how do i sort that out ?
Next thing is she has a 4speed manual gearbox but no motor so will i be able to get a type 3 pancake 1600 easy or is there someone that has one laying around for me in working condition?
And as soon as i have her home i will start a thread

First & foremost, get the current owner to get the valid papers first, it could be frustrating & costly for you and you might even land up not being able to get it in your name without valid documentation. The way I see it .... No paperwork in the current owners name - NO DEAL, no exceptions.
Had a dude at my place, paid R20000 for a split bus with no papers only to find that it's on the database as stolen.
SORT OUT PAPERWORK FIRST

Why would anyone NOT have papers for their vehicle except if it was stolen? I am very, very suspicious of such vehicles.

When I bought the Fugly, the Paper issue also sounded fishy, I asked the PO to e-mail me copys of what they had, went to the Post Office ( License Dept) and had it verified.
As it happened, I had all I needed, and the sale went through.
