HAVE YOU SEEN CYNDI'S BRAZILIA?
Hi everyone!
Tomorrow morning is going to be the official start of my project. Although we have had the bus for a few weeks already we haven't really made any obvious improvements or made any real progress.
From tomorrow I'm hoping that, that is going to change. My dad and i are going to start working on stripping the paint and maybe doing a little bit of panelbeating.
Please follow and give advice, criticism, suggestions, motivation and whatever else you want that might help us; or stop us from making too many mistakes. I will definitely be posting pics as we go.
Hold thumbs for me.

Good luck Cyndi
I would gradually get it 100% mechanically fit before stripping it completely (of small bits, paint, etc). This would give you the opportunity to drive and enjoy while the project is in progress
keep the pics coming

I cannot agree with Jolas more. If money is an issue and you cannot do everything in one go, get the bus running and mechanically reliable and then start with the cosmetics. I did that when we got Ugly Betty in 2008. She has since given us 40000km of pleasure. She really needs a cosmetic make over now, but she always puts a smile on my face when I drive her.
Good luck with the project.

Re: HAVE YOU SEEN CYNDI'S BRAZILIAN?
Thanx for your responses. We are trying to get it running but we are doing a few cosmetic improvements as well.
Today we started on the bumpers (we only managed the front) then we are going to do the roof and the front grill because we dont have to strip anything major to do them. As soon as our book arrives we will try and fix the engine properly.
Here are a few pics

Today my dad did the back bumper. Not too exciting i know, but it's progress.
Will keep posting
Cyndi
P.S. My dad says the bumper was full of putty. he did some real panelbeating with hammers and dollies.

Nothing boosts you more than actually being able to drive your project...........nothing makes it more overwhelming than sitting on your garage floor in 5000 pieces.

Tell your dad that if he needs more practice, I have another back bumper that he can practice on.Cyndi Kritzinger wrote:Today my dad did the back bumper. Not too exciting i know, but it's progress.

He just has to return it when it's nice and straight.

Cyndi I like the way you are doing it. Having a rolling project is the best way for the avg dude to enjoy your ride while fixing it up as you go.
Its also the best way to learn. There is nothing like fixing your bus on the side of the road to learn these lessons...
Enjoy your Brizilian, Cyndi.. Hope it does hurt to much...

Hi beetlefanatic
I'm sure he would NOT like another bumper to do
He has been working all day for 2 days on those bumpers and we still aren't finished with them!
Unfortunately i'm not able to help him during the week because of school and exams but we will deffinately be tackling them again soon.

Good luck with your new project Cyndi!
I agree with what everyone has said... drive it while you work on it, ours needs work too but it always puts a smile on our face when we start her up and go for a cruise around town.
Please post some pics of your bus for us to see?

Well you know how to get hold me if he changes his mind.

Nice pics of the bus.
Love the weird rear view mirror "arms". Never seen that before.

Hi Cindy
Can't see clearly but it looks like your bus has Disc brakes in front 5x112 so Rosstyles won't work unless you get adapters, My Brazilia SC had drums all round think that's how they came out originally.
