Got a few for sale, as in the pic below:

- Made by Blaupunkt in Portugal for VW/Skoda - brand new, never installed. Branded 'Volkswagen Beta' in front, 'Blaupunkt' on serial number
- Excellent RDS FM radio receiver (displays station/song name on LCD screen, auto-tunes to strongest signal when driving)
- Security coded (code supplied)
- Red background for buttons, LCD in blue display - you connect it so that the radio lights up with your dashboard lights
- Small flashing red security LED bottom left corner when switched off
- Need two ISO plugs to connect to your car (R 160 new, but can often be acquired for free or at minimal cost from audio installers - modern cars like Citi Golfs, Jetta etc. already have these plugs as part of the harness - radio simply plugs in.)
- Wiring diagram on a sticker on the radio, very easy to connect

R 450 each, including postage and insurance to any SA address, tracking number provided.

I can supply these radios with a cassette adapter as in the pic below (so that you can listen to MP3s through your iPod or cell) at an additional R 100

These units are ideal for you car if you prefer listening to FM radio with the best possible reception, and due to the fact that they are not fitted with CD players, they will be less attractive to thieves. The 'genuine Volkswagen' novelty might however appeal to die-hard VW fans!

So would this fit into a bus?

Originally a typical Type 2 Split or Bay Bus will have a slot for a radio that is slightly smaller than that of a modern radio (like the one above). Unless the slot is already cut I would suggest leave it as it was, which will mean the radio will not fit. You can, however, fit a modern radio very neatly and discreet below the dash of a VW Bus, and no-one will know about it.

My take on a classic car, is that when you fit a radio, be it new or of the correct period, it should go into the chubby hole.

The radio is there to shorten the road and make the trip more enjoyable, not to distract from the great looks of the car.

Even my speakers are fitter under the seats, just so I do not have to cut into the door panels, or other original parts.

I still have one of these radios left, brand new never used. My one I have in the buggy has been working perfectly for 3 years now!
