Hi Guys / Gals
I have this idea that I would like to run past you to see if there is any interest. I know there is quite a lot of members on ACVW that do not belong to a club but would like to do something during a month with their aircooled VW's. I also know that there are member that do belong to a club (myself included) but would like to attend more events (don't we all). I was thinking that we post event ideas for the ACVW members which we can attend. It would obviously be divided into regions with planned events for each region. It will NOT be a club, just ACVW members enjoying their aircooled VW's on a regular basis. This would offer the opportunity to get to know members of the forum better and because we all share the same interest just enjoy some time together as an interest group.
If there is enough interest maybe a separate section can be created on the board index for ACVW member events.
Just an idea...
Hennie

Great idea. DOOO EEEETT!! The socials I help organise or have arranged before have been "acvwsa" events as I don't belong to a club.
I do however consider myself a member of this group. Acvwsa is in my view an informal club, no fee's,meetings agenda etc.
I'm in the east of Pta, and think its time the peeps on the other side of the R21 arrange something

You have a good point there,
Maybe we can get the "wise and ever-seeing ones" to get a Club formed under the same name, so we have a sense of belonging.......
Maybe something dramatic as ACVWSA Classic car club ....
This may do it......

I like the idea. I'd love to see a whole bunch of aircooled's arrive at the beachfront at one of our longboard skateboard events!

With fear of being shunned by Eben. I already tell people I belong to ACVWSA as a CLUB.

at one stage this here forum was a buzz with awesome chats, social buzz and fun, it has died down a bit. No idea why, but seems to be gaining momentum again.
Here's to Belonging to ACVWSA as a club.
Saying that, who's keen on a lunch or supper meet at a restaurant of some sort? Centurion,Irene,Midrand?

Waste of time
There was a ACVW event the Past weekend and even a Charity fund raiser for the Guide dogs and I can tell you I am very Disappointing in the Turnout
Every one is for ever Crying for events and when there is one on your Door step and you guys do not even make the trouble to attend or even mention it to fellow friends
It was not a Closed event but an invite to ALL
Ok Rant over
Pls Carry on,and If possible and when I will support you where I can

I was there and I think the problem was that it was hosted on the same weekend as Piston Ring. It is sad that the turnout was so disappointing because I think that the event was well planned. Thanks Bonnie for your hospitality.

I know you were there but where were the other guys
It was advertised here and facebook but out of Facebook Members and ACVWSA do you really think that every one was at the Piston Ring and Kyalami etc
Maybe we need to rather ask the forum for Advice as just to go in to a Negative mode and not organize events
What do you think we can do to promote events and get to gathers better ?

Pierre I took my Beach Buggy out on Sat afternoon and washed and cleaned it but on Sunday my health was a issue so I could not attend the event or any other.
Please can you forward me the details of the person to contact so I can make a contribution to the Blind Dog Association.
Thanks for the your time and effort and to every one involved in arranging the event

Just do it! Too many people demand "more events" who are not prepared to lift a finger to make anything happen and who then don't show up when someone makes the effort to organise an event.
I suggest you select a time and place that suits you and then just invite everyone and see what happens. If you plan it so that you and your spouse or whoever will have a good time regardless of whether anyone else shows up then you have nothing to lose.
Various people have organised ad hoc forum gatherings on weekday evenings in the past and most of these have been quite successful.
A lot of work and expense goes into organising decent events for our community. If we want more or indeed any events it's up to all of us to acknowledge the work of those who stand up and do things, by supporting community events.
These comments are directed at our community as a whole, not any individual.

Each time I get home I try to arrange a CPT Social drinks/dinner eve. Obviously as time allows....
Look under the events section and attend or arrange an event.
