How are all you wonderful people?
Koekie is a 1976 high top VW van or Kombi as we South Africans refer to it.
We first met, in May 2013, on the cyber pages of Gumtree (who says you can't find love on the internet)...it was love at 1st sight...I knew from the 1st look that she was the perfect match for our adventures that lay ahead.
Being low on funds, I decided to swop my Hyundia Atos (a.k.a Smoky) for Koekie. Just couldn't imagine life without Koekie
So on the 6th of July, against all odds, we managed to tow Koekie to her new home (our back yard).
This is where dad and I (and a lot of help) will start her restoration.
Thank you
Nuraan

Lol thank you guyz...
Dad and I are going to restore Koekie to be a cupcake and ice cream parlor, catering to weddings, parties, events, festivals.
I'm a pastry chef so I'm super excited to get Koekie as pretty as can be so we can start delighting events all over Cape town.
We don't know much. But we purchased a book, we've been googling and are open to advise feedback, pretty much any assistance to help us get Koekie's wheels rolling in style.
So please share and assist where possible.
We trying to keep her as original as possible with some custom features to make her special.
Dad has woodwork background, so planning a real smart interior.
Will keep on posting as we go along. Please give your input.
We currently building Koekie a home, to shelter her.
Then the real work will begin...yippie
Thanks again
Nuraan

Hi All
Thank you for your support. My apologies for not updating this post.
I will do my best to keep it updated moving forward. Please read below update.
After our “Koekie” discovery and the success of our Fancy Dress Photo Booths, we decided on going mobile with our photo booth.
Thus we purchased another Vintage 70’s VW kombi/van, called “Snappy”.
Due to this recent development we had to make the difficult decision to put “Koekie” on hold until “Snappy” is fully restored.
About two weeks ago my cousin Aashiq came on board and started on “Snappy’s” body work (Shukran). If all goes well (Inshallah Ameen), then we are planning to have Snappy ready for Bugjam 6th October 2013.
This project has opened many doors and lead to interesting encounters with amazing people who have so generously shared their knowledge and experience with us. A BIG Shukran and Thanks to all for your valuable input, kindness and support.
So come on and roll with us and capture every moment of “Snappy’s” restoration. Watch how we combine our love for all things vintage, VW and photo booths and create the perfect recipe for big smiles and buckets of laughter.
Remember winking, blowing a kiss, or wearing a boa — anything goes in our photo booths, which is what makes them so addictive.
I still have loads of pics that needs to be resized. I will update as soon as possible.
Thank you

Looking good there, good luck with your ventures and with 'Snappy' and 'Koekie' and their respective walks back to their former glory (or even better!)
