Eben will tell you there are different types of fun to be had in Fastbacks...his choice being the one involving the use of the ankle - Um, I mean grabhandles.

Technically, yes, but most people associate the 'Variant' term with Type 4s.
Afaik, VW first officially used the term 'Variant' with Type 4s.

Both are very different.

lol okay got it...in fact i'm going to see a factory paint 1969/1970 Beetle.Apparently it is a third owner car, sitting on a set of VR6 wheels, and a genuine period bullet extractor exhaust..been sitting for quite a while..i'm clueless on the value, so i'll take some pics of the vitals and send it to you Merlin so that i know how much that it's worth
please bear with me

I have no idea what a Bullet Extractor is, but I'd like to see a pic of it.
Was it an EMPI part?

Pine showed us the advert a while back, that's how I identified it..you can see the advert under IMPI's period project post..it was made by Paddy manufacturing and cost all of R35,00!

If you realize a fastback is difficult toget spares for
It really is the best aircooled ride by far
I have a project fastback that is basically complete except for an engine No Papers Yours for R500.

No, Type 3 station wagons (squareback) were called Variant. So were early Passat wagons.
