Hey guys, hope someone has some insight,
My grandmother passed away and left her beetle to me, I know the beetle license wasn't paid for years, what would be the best and cheapest way be to get it on my name?

Thx

That is something the executor of the will must do.
They must get the original Registration certificate (RC1), the estate must then pay the "Back" licenses, then you put it in your name as if you just bought it.

If you do not have the original Registration Certificate, the Executor of the estate has to apply for a new one from the traffic dept, where the car was registered.
This can take years. (my Moms one we waited 2.5 years for)

Hope this helps

If the above mentioned is out of the question, you can go through the whole re licencing process (police clearance, weigh bridge, affidavits etc.) to put it on your name. If the licence has elapsed for over 2 years, there is no longer direct ownership of the car. This can all be done in an afternoon, not a huge process.
