Nope... this is it Marius...
Volkswagen bus fetches $217,800 at Barrett-Jackson auction = R2,161,512 (two million, one hundred and sixty one thousand, five hundred and twelve rands) at today's exchange rate of 9.9243
At the Barrett-Jackson auction in Orange County, $159,500 could buy you a 1964 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III James Young sedan. A mere $165,000 would put you in the driver’s seat of a 2005 Ford GT. Doling out more than $200,000 nets you a . . . Volkswagen Microbus?
That’s right: According to Barrett-Jackson, a 1963 VW Samba Microbus went for $217,800 after the buyer’s fee. The soaring selling price was undoubtedly a surprise, but the gorgeous mouse-grey-and-pearl-white bus is first-generation and restored to better-than-new condition. It has a German mohair headliner, all original latches, handles and ashtrays, and this particular ’63 model just won the best bus award at the VW Classic event.

What I'm saying is my baywindow is worth a lot more to me than what I paid for her, for one.
And some might find this a bit strange but my baywindow is worth more to me than the splitscreen above... Why you might ask? Because I can use her on fun trips and holidays to her full potential without me worrying about a two million rand car getting wrecked.. I can actually enjoy my bus.
I see the split above as nothing more than a very expensive show piece. That bus does nothing more than my bay.
What I'm trying to say here is that my bus will serve me better than a very expensive museum bus...
Some might find this strange and won't agree but its how I see it.

Might Agree there Yohbie
Would be very nice to have a 99.9 % Og
But
As we all know the time that one spends restoring any of these beauties builds a relationship that some might even call Priceless
I do believe the value in a Splitt - Bay -Bug -Beetle and any of the others
Is the look that one gets from the flash cars that pass you cruising along at a vey mild speed of 80
One could even say its Envy
There is something about these cars that just bring a warm fuzzy feeling to young and old
So then allot of Money can get you the look but good hard dedication to the cause of restoring builds a bond that is PRICELESS
