She needs a bit of work on the body and an oil leak but that's something I'm sure we all are familiar with . Got a weber carb, branches, new wiring, 17" mags, body kit and bucket seats

The red one belongs to my father. If you recall pick n pay had a competition about 10 years ago which my dad was fortunate enough to win. The black one came with mine, the guy I bought it from wanted to get rid of it so 2 for the price of 1.

Thanks will do. The guy who owned it before me ruined the car. Been about 4 months just to get everything working like it should. When we went to fetch it on our way back when you hit about 110 it won't go any faster and after a couple of seconds we were sitting in a ball of smoke. Haven't been able to get it on the road to see if that's sorted.

Had the same problem driving my 1500 the 1st time. The box had no oil in it and was heated so much that the oil on the outside of the box started to smoke replaced the gearbox at the end of the day that one was kaput.

And most of the engine's seals were gasket maker so it literally pi#&ed oil. Replaced all of those, new oil and everything. Just have to set the clearance on the rockers and hopefully that will work. On another note..... The battery is fully charged and everything but it sounds like the starter has trouble turning the engine, almost like there's too much compression. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Incorrect timing, rockers to tight or starter bushes wornout. Start with setting your valve clearences and check your timing. If still tight check your starters cables and earth strap on the chassis/gbox and the starter bushes.
