Trailer restoration - something different....

So I'm stretching the aircooled definition but it's certainly not water cooled :)

Someone said there weren't many projects and as I can't afford an engine power vehicle at the moment, here's the next best thing.

Hope you enjoy the slightly strange project! Bought today and planning on collecting from 300 miles away on Tuesday.

I have no idea of its age or maker as there is no plate on her. We believe it's a 40's or50's trailer but could be wrong. Any one with ideas, please post.

The box size is 1140mm long, 750mm wide (with arches add 280mm) and 580mm high.

Ideas anyone?

Collected yesterday from Norfolk. 500 miles round trip and left at 4.30am!

So it's home, wife laughed and it's worse in reality than the pictures made out.

First job is to sandblast and see what's left! Any ideas on what lights to fit would be helpful....

So been quiet for a week as been in the USA. So I have been sourcing some parts.

New NOS wheels which have new bearings. These are real split rims which need inner tubes and all. Was really lucky to find a set, one of the old ones, I will use as spare as I didn't have a spare.

Lights, I researched for ages and decided to go for original glass locus lights. Managed to get a full set of NOS lights all matching from 4 different companies.

Then the last part of lighting is the number plate light witch is on its way but will need work

So on the trailer, it's been sand blasted inside and out and hoping to collect tomorrow.

Will post pictures with the condition, but I know the bottom is rotten.

Still no further ideas on the maker but we know it's not military and believe is late 40's.

So just back from blasting.....

Good news, there was no filler at all so was worried it would be worse than I thought but as none, was exactly what I could see before the blasting. So £150 less in the wallet but ready for next stage :)

All the issues are around the bottom edge.

I would love to know its age, I can't find any history. When I have it on the back of Mo, I will take a picture to give people the perspective of size. I'm waiting for Mo to return from (so far) 8 weeks in with the mechanic :(
