Aircooled VW South Africa

Hi, I got my 6v 1959 Beetle today. The oil is on the bottom line and I want to add before I drive to the aircooled show. The problem is that I dont know what oil she has in. I have SAE40 at home. Will it be ok if I add that? Or will cause problems, if there is something different in?
