Strange bus

I saw these pics of this bus online, but there is just something "off" with it? With some research I found what it is, can you?

It looks like a bay that someone tried to make a split??

It's a 1970 Bay thats had a samba front and roof conversion. I think it was actually a conversion that was offered in the early days when people wanted a more modern running gear but the old style. I think the owners name is Gary and I'm sure this bus was for sale not long ago for £18,500.

Looks like there could be space for a radiator behind that bulbous front...
