Hi
Did you do the mod. I want to do the same and are looking for help. Have read of taking a Golf 1 dizzy. Not sure what the mod is except for the bottom part that needs to be machined.

Re: 1971 to electronic conversion
Hi guys
The person I turned too when doing my conversion was Rui (calooker), send him a PM.
On the dizzy he got me the kombi 2ltr ones and advised against the golf.
If the Gen is working stay with it, no need to change unless more amps are needed, if so get an alternator with a built in regulator the rewiring diagrams are easily available on the net.
My 2c worth.
