Hi all, be warned there is a lady in Pretoria who is advertising beetle engines with some crape story about them being from an engineering firm and of good quality....crap....she is seemingly getting old engines cleaned up and selling them and when you return them under warrantee she will give you stories and eventually stop answering your call.
Her number she uses is 0762613094 and she stays in Pretoria, brainwave 648, Roseville, Pretoria.
She has been on gumtree, olx and others... be warned

That sounds like the person who was advertising "rebuilt" engines on gumtree for R3.5k. There was a discussion about them somewhere on these forums late last year. The conclusion was they were probably rattlecan rebuilds.

His name is Franzwa, don't remember the surname. I made the mistake of buying a sub-assembly from him once ...

Experience has taught me that if it sounds too good to be true.........it usually is!
Or better expressed as "goedkoop koop is duurkoop!"

cheaper to do it right once than to do it wrong twice....
unfortunately you dont always see the "wrong" one coming, even if you pay big bucks for it

Anybody in the Pretoria (Roseville) area who could go talk to this lady on my behalf. I am getting to a point where I am going to do something stupid now, maybe just go to the cops I guess, but would appreciate help, if someone lives in that area. Her number she uses is 0762613094 and she stays in Pretoria, brainwave 648, Roseville, Pretoria.

Even as a cheap and nasty rebuild you will go over R3,5k very quickly. Just a set of cam bushes, main and big end bearings and you are probably over R1k already. So a complete rebuild for R3,5k.

We have the same problem with her, we have given up trying to deal direct and have gone to the police. @ sdudum, do you want to jump in on our case with yours?
