The previous one is obviously a Type 1 VW engine fitted to a later Chevrolet van.
By the way, during the 60's Chev did make a rear engined aircooled van, called the Greenbrier. Powered by the Corvair flat 6.
The "Ultravan" lightweight aerodynamic camper was also powered by the Aircooled Chev drivetrain.
