Hi Volks

I have a Scintilla (made by Bosch Switzerland) magneto for sale. These were commonly used on VW air craft engines and on stationary VW / Porsche Industrial engines. They also saw some use in vintage or old speed performance engines.

A magneto can be used in applications where you would not need to use a generator / alernator or even a battery. This significantly reduced weight as the magneto contains the distributor and generator in one unit. On aviation VW engines, where the engine is either crank started or started with a Batter jumper pack. When used in a drag race bug, it also helped reduce weight and increased the power to weight ration as no battery or generator was needed. If you add this to a drag car with the optional use of a fan housing and fan, lots of weight is already saved.

The Scintilla unit I have is identical to the one in the picture but black in colour, and has metal sheathed plug leads.

It will be great as a period piece or for use on your aircraft or VW / Porsche Industrial motor or on your vintage / old speed beetle engine. It mounts just like a normal dizzy, but will need a mounting bracket and your petrol pump replaced with an electronic one possibly.

R1200 OBO.

Also have a Mallory Dual point distributor, with 2 sets of new steel points.

R600 OBO.

Stirling rear window blind (9 slat) in good used condition.
Comes with 12 Luxaflex silver dimpled slats that can be trimmed to your windows length.

R600

Will add more later.

Hi Mudz

The magneto thing is just what I need for my Type 122, is it in working condition?
If so, please work out shipping to Jo'burg for me together with the blinds.
The magneto is probably heavy!

Thanks
Henk
