What is an alternator stand cast out of?

Magnesium, like the block and gearbox?

I want to get my alternator stand detailed to match my engine, and wondered if it was Magnesium too, which would give the paint problems with sticking to it. :|

Thanks, N.

Powder coating works fine

Painting?

I'm having two or three engine parts in the bay detailed, so whole powdercoating may not be the answer.

Thanks, N.

@#$%...so I'm going to have the same problem I face/d with my gearbox/block...flaking of the paint...

...or is this not really an issue, due to lesser heat?

I'm not powdercoated before we discuss that. :)

It needs to be painted for a reason. ;)

Thanks Armand.
