What is a VW Fleetline?

With the aid of numerous Fleetline owners & enthusiasts, I've slowly been accumulating and composing a comprehensive knowledgebase of information on these unique vehicles.

The current, summarised incarnation can be found on my 'site, here.

As is usually the case, time is always a problem, but I do update the Page as & when possible.

If you have any verifiable contributions to offer, or think that I have erred somewhere, please do get in touch.

 If you're a Fleetline owner and haven't already, please consider adding your bus to my Fleetline registry. In doing so, you will be aiding in the decoding of Fleetline VIN plates. Further information can be found by accessing the link above. At this stage, I have approximately half of the VIN plate decoded, but require further bus additions in order to confidently define the colour options & charts.

Kind regards,

Nic

Hi Nic a 412 and a Brazilia in brazil has about as much in common as a chicken and a fish LOL the Brazilia sedan was seen as a replacement for the beetle and actually like the SP2 predates the look of the 412.
Other than that it is about as much info on the Fleetlines as I have ever seen in one place congratulations on a job well done.
I can add that the gearboxes are also of Brazilian origin and have strange codes as well as strange internals especially the bay nose ones.
Thanks for doing this
Armand

Hi Armand,

Thanks for your input and comments. :)

My write-up is lacking sorely in the Brasilia department. It may be a while, but I will update it with what I have. VWSA called the Brasilias Fleetlines, from what I've been able to make out, which makes total sense.

What is odd about the gearbox internals?

Thanks Paul.

Kind regards,

Nic
