Hi Guys,
As promised, I will post what I have right now,
As you can see, there is not much to see, but boy what a good looking project this is.
The rotten pan and body VIN numbers are correct and matching, and clearly a June 1952 build.
(guess who has rose coloured glasses on)
so here goes..........
With the incorrect tank, I have already placed an order for the right 1952 (pre Oct) tank
Also have placed order for 49-52 pan half's
and even as I have already got "a" pillars, have placed order for new ones as well.
Set of German rubbers
Round horn grills
Popes nose lenses
Dim/bright floor switch
door light switches, but no dome light fond yet.
So yes, its coming together, one day at a time.

The body will be collected just after George Show, then there should be more Photo"s for you Main Line addicts.
Till then

Your crotch will finally have coolers Herman.
Serious note, that shell looks kinds good as far as the pics show. Also a blessing in disguise as you can now see everything that needs attention. Nothing is hidden.

Thanks guys, yes the task is big but the joy is huge.
So the parts are still a riving.
The "hens teeth" have arrived, but as luck would have it, they came in two pair........
Yes the parts I thought would be the ones not "gettable" have been Got.
The year correct floor pans will be getting here in the next few days, and then we can get a start on this here beauty.
The excitement is palatable.
Till then ......

I like your NOS speedo, very nice. Are you going to try and use the LHD clock? Note the flat part at the bottom that fits into the pod if you want to turn it arround.
I will be ordering hinge pins from Wolfsburg West over the weekend if you need some. The shipping is normally more than what a set cost.

Thanks ....
Not easy finding these things, never mind in RHD.
Yes will be using the LHD clock, but will have to get the winder to work on its other side, will be seeing if it can be done.
If not, it will be a gap filler till the RHD one is found.
Both are in full working condition, and the speedo has had a full service and is as good as new.
Witch hinge pins are you ordering, if the doors, I have already got my door hinges

They have done a good job on the speedo, looks new. Do you know who serviced it?
I gave a clock and speedo to Speedometer Services in Fishers Hill a long time ago. When I got it back the face was not near the same color that it's supposed to be. I would like to redo the speedo.
I did buy face decals from Kaefer-nostalgie but never used them. They were
A friend of mine made good ones for the clock if you find another one that needs a new face.
It is the door hinge pins I'm ordering. On the last order the shipping was more than the pins.
Did you start to work on the body?

Yes speedo and clock service and repair, can be an issue.
I always say, you can not pay someone to take the time you would to do the job you expect.
The speedo came from a clock maker in Europe that fixed two, just in case the one did not work, and I got the "bad" one.......
The clock too is working, but not serviced, spent most of its life in a cupboard, as it was replaced with a radio, many years ago.
I love this old stuff, all have a story and a history, making it priceless.
Have pins thanks, no am waiting on the pan half's to get the pan done, to fit the body to hold all square when cutting and welding on the body.
Will post as we go along.
