Who will insure old Vw's

I was informed recently by the current insurer of my son's restored '58 Beetle that they are not going to continue their cover on restored "classic cars" that are used as daily drivers. They told me this when we tried to get the second Beetle in the family on cover.
At the time the insurer (Execuline) accepted risk at a hefty premium and a steep excess in case of a claim and only after we took the car to a valuator of their choice to determine an agreed value. Even though we had no claims over this period I will now have to look for cover elsewhere.
My problem is that my son is younger than 25 and his licence is only 3 years old. Now my second son has an even bigger problem with his recently restored '78 SP as his licence is only a month old - only tuned 18 last month.
Can anyone advise me on who to contact for comprehensive insurance cover on these restored cars?
