Aircooled VW South Africa

Came across these heads the guy says they from a beetle with what sounds like safari front windows . Anyone ever seen something like this ?

I think you are right Impi .i'm dying to see the beetle apparently the owner shows it quite a lot. Would love to hear if he'll tell me it's an imported vw engine like he told the head specialist.

I would like to know if anybody managed to replace a beetle's heads with those from

overhead cams, How would you drive them, only with a 90deg, belt system

Not sure if it would be worth all that effort.

The diagram shows the Citroen engine, which I understand was a small capacity high revving engine. It shows how one would drive the camshafts, but what about differences in dimentions (bore, distance between pistons etc.)?
