My new Buggy

Post by dwayne.dewaal »

Hi Guys.

As said in the introduction. I have got myself a nice buggy from a guy in Pinetown. And drove it down to the south coast this weekend.

The details of the buggy i am not too sure of. But it has a fiberglass pan (steves buggys)
1600 twin port motor that sounds very healthy. And the the Manx logo on the nose. Dont know if this is a manx veld wagen or not?

Have a look

Dwayne

Ja its an awesome buggy. Just a bit of a serious wobble when doing about 80km/h. So think the tie rods etc have to be replaced

Hi Dwayne and welcome to ACVWSA!

You got a pretty awesome buggy there, with a special SA connection. Although it has no connection to the US Manx (except for the illegal use of the name), it dates back to '68 or '69, making it one of the first ones locally.

This ad is from 1968:

In 1970, probably because of some legal issues they renamed it 'GP Buggy' (British name), but note it is the exact same buggy as in the Veldwagen ad

Enjoy it! :hangloose:
