Hi All,
I know there's a transport thread, but I'm taking a chance on a separate post too if you don't mind....
I need a "lift" for a Trekbar trailer from Stellenbosch to Gauteng/Mpumalanga.
It can be towed behind a vehicle, or loaded on a bakkie, I think it weighs about 200kg.
Thanks, J

I may be able to help with this in December. Is the trailer licensed and in towable condition?

Nice find bro... the weight unladen on that trailer is only 80 kgs, and 400 kg max fully laden.
Or that what the plate on my one says... Fig also has one...and a few other members.. would love to know how many of these things are in the hands of actual VW enthusiasts!!

I just found another one last week, in immaculate condition.
Also found a decent one in Pretoria a couple of months back; didn't buy it because of paperwork issues, but the guy said he had been swamped with calls from classic VW owners.

They are more common than you might think Terry. Keep searching and you will find one.
Search gumtree etc for "aluminium trailer" or "tip tow". They were made by a company called Trek Bar, but I've never found anything by searching Trek Bar.

Thats right Terry... I know how long you are looking for one...When I find one, I promise to set you onto it.
@Fig, when I search trek Bar, I just get bicycles LOL!!

Now that I've found the show quality Tip Tow trailer I've been looking for, I'll also keep an eye out for one for you Terry.

@fig - it is towable, papers in order. That would be great if you can help in December. We have a branch in Stellenbosch, so I'll store it there. Please keep me updated.
To the rest - thanks gents, this is my second one, quite lucky with old caravans and trailers.
Thanks,

OK Johann, then I think you can count on me to bring it back unless my plans change. Main reason to be in Cpt is my daughter's graduation, which may be postponed by the fees protests.

Pity you didn't find it in the beginning of the month. I drove my Syncro back from Somerset West on the 7th and would have brought it with pleasure.

Make sure to attach a little whip flag on the trailer.... they are so small and light weight... you keep looking for them all the time whilst pulling them around... super light and super quiet...
..yes, Im quite fond of them
