Slak,

Very very nice Baja Bug!!!! Looks just right...with the nice wheel combo and ride height. The tyres suit the Baja to the tee....

Thank U very much !
i will call very soon
The ride height on my car is pretty much the same as a STD beetle it has
a body lift kit on that makes it seem higher than it really is
i have not done anything to the suspension apart from fitting the coilspring shox to the rear
i am still looking around for some reduction gears so that it can have some more ground clearance
only big modification i had to do was change the gears to shorter ratios so that the little 1600
can turn the big rear wheels without effort
it now runs like a normal Beetle

Slak,

Well executed for sure...brave man to do the body lift kit...I did not even notice. Reduction boxes is nice.....goes like stink out of the blocks right up to 80 km/h and takes a nose dive and stays there, but it works well.

I really think you are in the right ballpark ground clearance wise, but hey.....if you want to drive over a Ford Ranger and make it feel like a speed bump...who am I to say "it is enough".

I fitted coil springs to mine as well and they were too long and the poor ol" Baja stood their looking sad with way too much positive camber. I could have cut the springs, but decided to just put them aside for a while.

I committed a cardinal sin and messed around with the spring plates and splines....not brave enough yet for the body lift thing....One outer spline on each side and the Baja came up nicely. Rides quality is really good....it is a urban cruiser and do not see dirt road.....kind of defeats the purpose of it being a Baja.....

Believe me the last thing i wanted to do was put in coilovers but i just
have not had time to fiddle with the springplates
the ride with the coiovers is HARD when the kids are in the car it is much better
because then the car sits nice and straight
but i would still like to do the springs to get the ride quality back and adjusters up front to
lift it as well as it is a bit saggy

Yours looks great just as it is all i would do is Drive it

Would want to just give my Baja slight adjustment in the front as well.....rubbing during spirited driving....on-road or driving recklessly..is more like it.
I agree that the coil-over type springs levels it out as you really fine tune it to suit...rather stick to that and do not mess with those spring plates...they are dangerous....almost cost me a finger when it came off the jack.
Those coils in the coil overs can be cut to provide more give and softness to resemble that of the stock shock, but since you are already satisfied with level suspension....meaning sitting pretty...leave things be and do not be tempted scratch that itch....LOL!!!
My daughter loves the Baja as Daddy climbs over pavements and do silly things....not to be disclosed in this post.....as people previously affected by my lack of judgment behind the wheel of my Baja might be reading thread.

@slak
Where did you buy the body lift kit from? Or was it self made?
Thanks
