Henry, the guy who makes this fabric called me a few days back about a kombi he is selling, and we got to chatting about this fabric. He has a fabric printing factory, and can make any pattern to order in from 1m2 upwards. Cost is about half the price of the imported fabric before shipping.

Advert says R450 per square meter

What worries me is that its sold per square meter, which makes me understand that this fabric is only 100 cm wide, which could lead to problems when covering wider seats, in that you now have to but more fabric to make up for the lack of width.

The ones on http://www.gowesty.com are 150 cm wide and are sold per running meter.

Im keen on some curtaining fabric.... I will call him and report back. He is close to where I live so I can check it out for you Volks from a quality and durability perspective, seeing the fabric is not woven but printed in plaid.

Is that not a bit too rich, especially since he prints it himself as Derek says?

I had a chat to him last week Sean, he's name is Henry. Very nice gentleman...and he advised me that he has a small textile business. As a VW nut himself, he reproduces this to almost identical Westfalia spec. Its woven fabric and then printed into any Westy colour combo. I will be seeing him on Saturday and will check out the fabric myself, and let you know.

The Fabric is actually sold per running meter, and not Square meter. It measures 1500 mm in width, same as imported Westy fabric.

According to Henry, 2 meters should be enough for 8 to 10 Westy/kombi curtains.
His business will also make up the curtains for you at a small extra charge.
