SOLEX TWIN

Hallo gents,

I have 2 solex 34 pdsi-3, s that I want to rebuild for my 1600 twin, but every one I speak to says; no we do not touch those. You can set them now and one turn around the block and they are out again. Is it the throttle links that cause this? Can one improve or is it just not worth the cost.
I see there are 101 discussions between twin and single. I like twin carburetors but I don?t want to battle with problems or pay R4200.00

I saw some thing about Alfa (33) carburetors?

Regards
Braam

Mr AJ -- dont listen to the sissies--- twin carbs are lekker on a VW motor . just do it properly and build a good linkage setup and set the carbs up properly and you wil have a lot of fun. If you drive light -footed, your petrol bill will be less as well Having said that, PDSIT-3 's can be a bit tricky, but properly doctered, lots of guys have good results with them.

If you understand how to set them up, you will be very happy with the end result, twin carbs are king, dudes trash twin carbs for various reasons but mainly because they can't set them up right they think they are crap, not true.
