Aircooled VW South Africa

I dont post on ACVWSA alot any more, as I have moved to the UK. I do still silently browse the forum from time to time....
One thing I have to say is that I am amazed to see how the prices of ACVW's have increased in the last 2 years

I have recently been helping my Neighbour to convert his T5 into a camper ready for Busfest in September (I will post pictures later tonight) : http://www.busfest.org/busfest/ . I will also be attending this show, so you can expect a load of pictures to follow


Anyways, all this excitement of building a camper T5, I have decided to bring my baywindow to the UK. (i have been thinking about this for a while, but have finally decided to bite the bullet and do it)

I have received a quote from a reputable shipping company who specialise in shipping exotics and supercars (Also a few ACVW's). As you can see, the prices are extortionate, and I need to shop around a little more.

Anyone else have experience of shipping cars to the UK? (I am currently talking to Dutch Diver)

Where are you shipping from? Its cheaper to get a bigger container and fit 2 cars and share the costs with someone.

if the shipping costs are too expensive, then sell it and buy one that is already in the UK

I wish i could Tony. But prices in the UK are insanely expensive

Probably Johannesburg as there is where the veichle is atm.

My initial request was to ship 2 cars in a 40ft but the price is basically double that of a single (discount of 10%)
