Rust bullet

Post by Blitzkrieg »

Greetings

Can anyone tell me if rust bullet is available here?

If not, what other products could I use to remove rust from my '67 Fastback?

I'm talking about the surface rust on the body etc.

Need to stop it from rusting further as the re-spray is still some way off...Maybe only October or so...

I've just returned from buying Deoxidene to get rid of all the surface rust.Apparently, it works rather well. For the more severe rust, I have bought a wire-brush drill attachment

Let the games begin...

rust

Post by Twinport »

Hallo
I cleaned the rust off with a steel drill brush and used NS1 Rust buster (rust converter and primer) it?s white and turns black on contact with rust.
I have not tested on the long term. But it looks like it will work.
It form?s a great sealing layer.

Kill rust - completely!

Post by norbolt »

Hi Guys,
I do have a solution called Rust Bullet - far better than any "rust converter"

My personal experienec with many different converters is that the rust simply comes back.

Visit http://www.norbolt.co.za or blackwatchsa.co.za and from there follow the links to Rust Bullet or give me a call on 0357891243

A lot of these anti-rust products etch into the metal and will cause damage to the metal.

Some people have had problems with paint lifting on the spots where such treatments were used.

In one case I know of, a layer of that metal had to be removed in order to fix the lifting problem.

Rust Bullet

Post by norbolt »

Merlin,

This is quite a sweeping statement, which could defeat the object of this site which I presume is to share knowledge and help each other.

I trust that you have no experiece with or knowledge of Rust Bullet, otherwise your remark is out of context.

I have taken the trouble to register on this site and post something purely to assist people who are very regularly attempting to source the product from the USA.

I have been involved in specialized corrosion protection for a while and if you are aware of even one case of Rust Bullet "lifting" I would love to hear from you.

In fact, to the best of my knowledge, it is the only product GUARANTEED for 10 years and once cured, the only way to remove it, is by abrasive action!

Evening Norbolt,

Firstly, and anyone with the intention of flaming, move along thank you...introductions are always welcomed - in lieu of product placements.

As I'm sure you are quite aware, I've been around here for some time, so I have a fairly good idea of how things work, thank you. No instruction needed.

I'm contributing MY opinion. Use it, don't use it - your choice. I';m not shoving anything down your throat, mate.

Before you make comments on my post, try reading it please...I said "a lot", NOT ALL anti-rust products.

I have an engineering friend involved in anti-corrosion as a speciality...I'll be sure to get his viewpoint on your product...for my own interest you understand. :)

I also, and this comes from reading my own post, said that the paint lifts...not the anti-rust product.

I do not know your product, so I will not comment specifically on it. That said, I also don't know you, beyond your posts...nothing Flamed, nothing against you - or your product.

I commented on this thread - not your product.

Read.

Good evening.

I was actually interested in being an importer for rust bullet when i was still in south africa... if its as good as the test data says it is it should sell especially well at coastal locations, even if it is pricey as it is.

Just a quick note to let you guys know that I have discontinued importing Rust Bullet - stock left I intend to keep for my own use. The product works great but unfortunately expensive and did not take off in the SA market

Thanks Norbolt, can you perhaps let us know if you regard the NS4 product as a good alternative? Thanks
