'74 Beetle vin locations

Hi
I just want to know where are the vin numbers located on a 1974 beetle ?
I just know of the plate inside the bonnet

Normally the chassis number will be stamped in front of the small hatch on your tunnel, behind the e-brake lever but certain 70's SA Beetles have only the plate inside the bonnet, and thus a 'blank' chassis

It seems VWs assembled in SA from about 1973 to 1976 did not have the VINs stamped on the body; only on the VIN plate.

Why not? It's probably not legal but, once it's done, no one will know. So long as you know you did nothing dodgy, no harm done.
