Hi All,

I have recently bought a 1964 beetle in a fair condition.
I am in the process of converting to a 12V system.
I bought a reconditioned alternator that I fitted with no problem whatsoever.

My carburettor doesn't want to "drop" into place (see below images)
The pump portion catches on the side of the alternator.

I need some help / advise please ?

Make a spacer between the carb and manifold. About 10mm should do the trick

Hi All,

I am looking for a complete beetle pan or pan halves in good condition?
I have a '64 but am not going to worry about petty modifications like accelerator cable positions from newer models etc. etc.
UNLESS you guys tell me that I really need a correct pan/s.
I am willing to courier from anywhere if the pan is worth it.....

Anyone selling?

Get hold of Splitbusaholic, he sells new halves, may be your best bet.
