I'm quite urgently looking for a colour sample of this dark green used on early baywindows. A fuel cap, grill, or any piece of body with original paint will be most helpful for me to match it correctly. I only need to borrow it and can return it as soon as I am done. I can arrange a pick-up and return from any location.

not a good picture, could it maybe be the same? ( Cellphone cameras are not always colour-true and light conditions differ)
Staying Aircooled is so much nicer.
Do'nt assume anything- (While doing fault-finding).
Just to throw a spanner in the works ... local java green Beetles and Type3s look very close to L610 delta green. But the locally built early baywindows looked to my eye like they were painted a slightly different colour (slightly lighter and "greener"), but I may be mistaken ...

Here are a few more examples of ones I have spotted.
This was a Westy I took pictures of about 7 years ago at Gerhards place. Looking at it now, I see its a 1969 model, So this cant be the VWSA green. It does look quite similar though?
Skilpad, my former 1969 Westfalia and the green westy you photgraphed at Gerhard's, Sean, were both tourist delivery buses, so painted in Germany. Both were Delta Green
@lowlight, Only tourist delivery westies and the initial batch of fully imported early bay westies were painted in Germany. From mid-1970 model year, they were assembled and painted at Uitenhage.
Sean, as mentioned this weekend, Gerhard has a colour swatch to do a paint match for you of South African Java Green (1968-69) and Dark Green (1970-71).
More info later, but a significant breakthrough has just been made regarding VWSA paint and upholstery colour names and codes ...
