Hi Chaps

I have posted this one before, but it got hijacked somewhat. I'm battling to get some rims to fit under my back arches as I'm converting the front to disks. Have tried various items off a golf but these all seem to catch on the lip of the rear arch.

Is it possible grind that lip back?

someone suggested kombi rims - will they fit?

You can grind a bit or you can roll the lip in, but it is going to crack the paint, either way it should have been done before the paint work was done.

I have to have some bodywork done - rust spots and the chips where the front arches have been caught on my present tyres! I'll get my man to roll the lip back on the rear arches at the same time and then repaint it.

What year gearbox are you running as the ghia should have had short axles which allowed more clearance is the casing split lenghthwise or not
Kombi rimms do move the tyre inward and it might work,
