AIRCOOLED CONTACTS IN LADYSMITH ???

Post by Cyndi Kritzinger » Fri Jul 27, 2018 8:31 am

HOWDY ALL.

AS USUAL, I'M LOOKING FOR SOME ASSISTANCE. THIS TIME IN LADYSMITH.

YESTERDAY AFTERNOON I WAS TRAVELLING BACK TO DURBAN IN MY WIFE'S FIAT SIENA AND THE ENGINE MOUNT BOLT SNAPPED OFF JUST OUTSIDE OF LADYSMITH. I MANAGED TO DO A U-TURN AND FREEWHEEL THE CAR DOWN TO THE GARAGE (ENGEN I THINK).
I FOUND A MECHANIC AFTER SOME TIME AND HE SENT HIS BOY TO COME CHECK IT OUT AND THEN THEY NEVER RETURNED.
I ORGANISED A LIFT BACK TO DURBAN WITH A KIND STRANGER AND AM CURRENTLY TRYING TO FIND A NEW MOUNTING. (IF YOU'VE EVER DEALT WITH THE FIAT AGENTS YOU'LL KNOW..... I'M STILL WAITING SINCE YESTERDAY WHEN THIS HAPPENED)
I AM GOING TO A FIAT SCRAPYARD THIS MORNING TO TRY MY LUCK.

I AM LOOKING FOR A CONTACT IN LADYSMITH WHO MAY BE MECHANICALLY MINDED OR AT LEAST HAVE A FEW TOOLS AND IF NECESSAY BE ABLE TO PUT ME UP FOR A NIGHT IF NECESSARY.
IF I FIND THE PART TODAY OR TOMORROW I AM HOPING TO COME UP ON MONDAY.

ANY TAKERS ??????

*PS. I DON'T SNORE

REGARDS

MARK

Hi Mark. Surely it may be a better idea to get hold of the Fiat owners club for Fiat issues???

As Sean mentioned, try the Fiat club: http://www.fiatclub.co.za/

The Germans have a saying:
"Fehler In Allen Teilen"
Do'nt assume anything- (While doing fault-finding).
"Things should be as simple as possible, BUT NO SIMPLER THAN THAT."
"If something can go wrong, it will go wrong" (Murphy's law).

That's very nice of the mechanic to send his son to help you. Typical country hospitality.

MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY EXCEPT THAT THEY DIDN'T RETURN.....

ANYWAY I HAVE ORGANISED A RIDE UP TOMORROW AND I WILL TRY AND DO THE REPAIR MYSELF. IF I CAN GET IT SORTED QUICKLY ENOUGH I'VE EVEN ORGANISED A BIT MORE WORK UP THAT WAY WHICH WILL HELP COVER SOME OF THE COST.
