If needle &seat is leaking,.... would it not flood over the top of carb to outside ?,......this "thing" will idle the tank empty,.....no issue.......
So,......both removed carb & manifold will be on it's way to a "specialist" in Capetown to sort manif and jetting out on a flow testbench.

Do you guys know of this gent .

Would this be Rowland?

That could very well be it. What is the fuel pressure that the pump supplies?

Gents,..car came with facet pump and 38 DGAS,.....and now with 36 DCD7.
Measured pressure at carb,....2.5 bar.
...?

2.5Bar might be way too much for the carb.
2.5Bar = roughly 36Psi
Weber carbs need around 5-7 Psi which is aroung 0.5Bar.
So, it would just push it past the needle and seat straight into the engine.

Weber carbs need a pressure of no more then 2.3 PSI

Vw Solex will take 2.5 PSI

I think Nick meant PSI not bar.as that will blow any carb, but fuel injection.

Correct Herman,..way too optimistic,....2.5 psi,.....sorry fot that.
Word from the ghuru is that Leon should have put a 32/36 carb on,.......we'll see what comes back ....will givefeedback.

have you tried adjusting the stroke of the pump jet arm?

Fuel pump jet ,...a little squirt,............. fuel pours out from centre / secondary choke
Problem "disappeared" to Rowlands in Capetown. Awaiting feedback.
thanks for all input.

float not stopping the flow - or fuel pressure too high

Hi Nick, has the expert come back with your carb......

Whats the finding ...

Where you crane up the two number plates, and slide a new car in-between ....

:TIC:

Jip,....carb is back jetted, but biggest change was made to manifold base. Getting things ready to assemble, but my friend has taken a turn for worse and is back in hospital,.....dehydration due to excessive vomitting. He's better though.
Will take a peek at the jetting as well .
Will share pics

Thank for asking Herman
