Good day & thank you for the opportunity to pose questions here.

Was wondering if anybody has ever done this. If not, is it fairly simple to manufacture a mating plate for any small 4-cyl engine?

Regards

Vern

Hi and welcome
Best is to get an adaptorplate and flywheel combo from
Gilo engineering in Booysens

Thank you for the tip @buggyfan

Very helpful people. I have established this so far:

They do a Uno Turbo to VW kit BUT the Uno is an older series engine (vs Fire), so no go.

Fallback plan is to buy a Golf 13/1400cc engine. Adaptor kit will be available in 8-10 weeks.

I want to ask why you want to do this?
For more power is usually the answer, but you also need to remember that these conversions usually make less power than the stock engine up to 4000rpm. So to benefit from fitting these tiny engines you need to ring the snot out of the engine which makes driving a pain

My opinion only...
to me it makes more sense working a set of stock heads and getting another 15hp (roughly) out of the engine and more torque everywhere
