What exactly have we bought????

Hi everyone,
After loving kombis for many years, hubby made a spur of the moment purchase of a 3 door double cab. It didn't cost much which is possibly a good thing as I have suspicions about the details provided on the import papers from the original importer...plus needs a fair amount of work. Lucky this is a long term thing and is about love not money :lol:
Looking to see if anyone can help identify anything about her...was suggested to try SA forums.
What we were told: 1980???, Engine code starting with BZ (1600??), Chassis starting with HH....
I suspect it is Brazilian, and we believe it was imported to Oz from South Africa.
Any info appreciated! Total beginner :?

Looks like a hacked early Brazilian bus, with a Fleetline rear bumper, to me.

I can't see the plate clearly on my phone...

Whatever that is, it's a total hack job.

I doubt it came from South Africa. No Brazilian double cabs were ever sold here.

Interesting that it is RHD though.

Not sure if it is a hack job

Think you need to contact the guys at www.vwantigo.net and send them the photo's

May find its an South American cheapie

Regardless its a nice bus and if so, its a one of a kind.
