I am still having night mares with this charging system, I am not sure this is the right alternator with a built in regulator
It says Alternator IC Regulator is that for a external regulator or built in regulator, The power wire from battery big one but then there is 3 wires coming out that go to a plug one has power is there suppose to be more with power once the key is on .I am lost with this with this charging light. if I put a test light on one of the other wires when the engine is running should there be power at one of the other two wires or all 3 wires coming out the alternator. Hope you can understand what I mean because I don't.Thanks

Terry the 3 wire system normally goes to a voltage regulator on the body.

Please Google the model name and number of your car to get the right wiring diagram.

If you have two wires, one thick and one thin, you have an internal regulator,

it you have a thick and 3 thin you need an external regulator as per the pic above.

Thanks Herman I will have to look into it as it was all working fine until it all went dead but got it all working except for the alt light not coming on.
