Hey guys,

So I've had my bus running a pair of 34 ICT's since it's new motor was installed 5 years ago. Its been pretty much flawless, albeit a little heavy on fuel when I have used it. I've got a good selection of jets as well, but find the current setup seems to be good, and the engine's happy with no flat spots etc.

My current situation after winter, went for a bring to my office and back, and could feel another small stutter on main jets. The only way I usually fix this is to whip them off, strip and clean, but, with the whole hex bar setup, it's a pain in the ass to be honest.

So, I'm contemplating "downgrading" to a BIG single carb, and would like some feedback from you guys. Would you, or wouldn't you? if yes, why, or why not, and WHICH carb would you go to. Should I actually go ahead, I'm going to need to get the inlet manifolds, as I gave mine away to Nick\Sean etc years ago.

So, Pls let me get your honest feedback here. I'm NOT considering a solex, but a progressive Weber or such? Tony, Sean, what would you recommend?

Just took him for a fast burn to melkbos, after having the Batt on charge overnight, and my little stutter is gone, so, it's not a dirt in main jet issue, again, but seems possibly it's a Gen\recharge issue? Might have to pull off the Gen and get it checked or refurbed soon. This little stutter yesterday in low gears is a voltage issue again.. I posted about this a few months back, and got the external regulator replaced, but if it's happening again with a new Battery, then it must be a gen problem. My red light doesn't come on tho, and my internal voltmeter shows over 13 volts when running. mmmm...

progressive weber runs well but is a nightmare to tune correctly.
If you are happy with your setup, why change it? The hex bar linkage is a pain, but how often do you need to remove it?

thanks Tony. Was warm today.. but Im now certain this is a voltage issue.. I have a feeling my gen is possibly vrot. But, for now it's ok. and running fine.

I have a good fuel filter in my line, and never had to clean carbs

You have a filter on the 34ICT inlet as well and can be cleaned without removing anything.

Keep the ICT's you will be happy you did

My brother's ex baja had a 32/36 weber progressive carb with a modified factory manifold, thing ran awesome, was light on fuel just never had a choke so was grumpy until it warmed up this was on a 1679 cc type 1 engine
