Wanted in Cape Town: '67 Beetle windshield seal

Hi everyone,

My bug's windscreen is due to be replaced next week, due to an errant stone from a truck.

The glass shop cannot locate a new seal and would like to use the old one, which could benefit from being replaced.

My bug is not Cal-look. It does run the original aluminium beading.

FFR does not have seals in stock.

Is there any other supplier in Cape Town that may be able to assist?

Thanks.

Thanks for the tip. I wasn't aware that PAR operated in CPT. :-)

Nothing for windshields on their website catalogue, unfortunately.

I've bought windscreen rubber that takes the beading from PAR in Cape Town for years, but lately the quality wasn't good, as the beading tends to pop out during installation. Maybe it was just a bad batch. Also, I've never had a bad experience with Autostyle's rubber.

Much appreciated.

It's part of an insurance claim, so I need to sort out that delightful aspect first this coming week. Fun times.

Will arrange an AutoStyle one ASAP thereafter.

Dude, DON'T use Pro Auto for window rubbers.. It's always leaked. you will screw your beetle up. Get the proper stuff, see if Tony maybe has, otherwise, import from the UK.

Thanks. :-)

PAR for generic applications, correct mouldings for everything else, always.
