I've seen somewhere on this site that some of the VWSA codes are cross referenced to Plascon codes, which could possibly be used by local paint shops for colour mixing. I would've liked the list to be exhaustive for all VWSA codes.

Best is to find a spot with original paint , put sticky tape over it and scrape it off.

Take that to your body shop and they will perfectly match your original colour.

Or the inside of your fuel flap, or behind your ash tray, or the back of your cubbyhole door.

The codes have changed over the years, as well as the pigments. so quoting the code will not get you the correct colour.

Thanks Herman. I'm talking about a total respray, or respraying to an original colour.

Do understand where you coming from, but old codes are great for info, but not too great for accuracy.

I have tried to take the code to a paint company, and what came out was no where near, due to the change in pigments from the old days to the new.

So even if you have the correct code, it will not be the same as the OEM colour,

The only way to get it correct is to match a un-faded bit of original paint, you will always find some somewhere in the bus.

BUT .......

This is only my opinion, but if you are taking the bus back to 100% original, it will be more acceptable to go original colour.

But if its a rebuild, with your own enjoyment, then go for the colour that would make you enjoy the bus,

Make it fun to sit in it, and call your own.

The next guy can always repaint it back to original if he wants too.

As I am not a museum curator, I do not need original, I like old shapes, and good memory's, but need to keep up with the traffic.

My kids, or the new buyers on Gumtree can get them back to original.
