Gearbox place...

's up all?
My usual gearbox guy is away on leave...
The '66 is going a with us...we leave on the 21st SEPT.
Shifting is like stirring porridge. The coupler is shot, and everything else not right needs sorting.
Who do you recommend in Jo'burg that won't require my left arm, and right nut as payment?
Thanks, N.

Sounds like a coupler, or gear shaft bush problem. Check the coupler first. (Underneath the cover plate under the back seat.) It might be that the little nut is loose, in that case a 5 minute painless and greaseless fix. Bestaluck

I'll have a look this weekend, but I do want all the wearable parts replaced...after 40 yers they tend to wear out.
It grinds on shifts, is seriously sloppy, and needs my quick shifter fitted.
On that note, has anyone ever fitted a quick shifter to a bus?
Thanks Pine, N.
