Split crewcabs with airboxes

Post by Merlin »

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to make contact with anyone with a split crewcab that is fitted with air boxes, please.

It must have air boxes, not the German-style vents.

I'm looking for assistance with some measurements.

Thanks.

Can help you with dimensions and pictures from a 66 crewcab with original Uitenhage-made air intake boxes.
Staying Aircooled is so much nicer.
Do'nt assume anything- (While doing fault-finding).

This is interesting, haven’t seen this before.

Why is this different from the ‘usual’ vents?

Thanks, James.

Dawie very kindly provided me with measurements and photos. I'll be in touch should I need further info'.

Riaan, airboxes were used in southern Africa in an attempt to reduce the intake of dust. They sit higher up than the common intake path.

Ive only ever seen a couple. I believe there were a few variations on crew cabs.

I have a single cab that has the intakes on the back of the cab, with the airbox running under the bed.

To the best of my knowledge, they were unique to this part of the world.

Your cab intakes were likewise for use in dusty regions.
