check your thrust bearing. Many engine have been rumoured to have been killed by them. not from incorrect endlplay setting, but because the oil gallery in the case doesnt mate up to the bearing oil groove. Only allowing about 30% of the oil hole to be exposed.... hense a lot less oil than is supposed to be there....
This is what I did to mine to get the oil from the hole to the groove....
