OK, the '66 bug...
When I turn hard right (there's a perfect bend in the business park here for testing this every morning), I get one Hell of an unhealthy sounding noise.
The best way for me to describe it is if you remember adding carboard pegs to your bike as a kid...that's the kind of noise it emits.
Eish...among the myriad of problems this car currently has, this, and the front beam are the worst...but right now, this is worrying me a LOT.
Perhaps they're related...check this forum for the beam query.
What could make such a noise?
Thanks, N.

The wheel rubbing against the inside of the fender, perhaps?

Nope. ...doesn't sound even remotely like that, AND, it's only when turning right.

I have just been to check, and there is nothing rubbing - on either side.
It is a seriously nasty sound...and is somewhat more than a rubbing. Of this I'm sure.

I was gonna suggest the same thing that Michael did.
Check your wheel bearings and maybe your king and link pins

Thanks Tony.
Will check it out asap.
I have a list of work that needs doing rather urgently...work that's required for safe daily driving.

This is an easy one...
Next time you get in the car, make sure you put both your legs inside the car before you close the door.....
..other wise your scraping toe-nails will make that sound every time you go over a speedbump....

Your problem here is that the offset of the rim is causing the tire to rub against the suspention. You need to put in some spacers to fix this problem.

I cannot tell if that bug is lowered or not but that looks exactly like mine even with 8mm spacers.
Sorry for the Hi Jack Merlin
