Sprayed it myself at a friend's place in Bfn. Was kind of a learning experience, hard work but I really enjoyed it!

is it lots of work? Whats the hard part I reckon taking down the paint? And I suppose you need to know what ur are doing when spraying. I would dig to do it myself 2, but got no time in the moment, and no one to teach me.

The actual spraying is only 2% of the job, and relatively easy. The preparation is what takes the time. You need to wet sand the whole body down to the gelcoat, fill up all holes and cracks with fibreglass, smooth it out etc..

Thanks Blitz, I appreciate it, but it was really NOT that difficult!

The key word is patience, especially with the preparation.

When the time comes to spray the Fasty, I'm going to do all the preparation and take it down to bare metal myself (Soda blast her myself), then let a pro do the actual priming and spraying...

I really don't mind spraying the chassis and all other places which are hidden, but as long as the exterior has a nice decent respray, I'm happy

No two tone jobs for me :kots:

I've looked pretty much everywhere in GP, but no-one seems to know anything about it. Except the a$$ in Pretoria-West who told me he does his soda blasting 'with sand' IMPI has an interesting chemical process, using pool acid, to clean metal of everything, including rust, but I'll let him explain...

I also you HcL acid to clean rust, but it is not so efective to remove paint. and the surface rust 10 times faster if untreated like in imediatly
