Disk Brakes Conversion

Can anybody give me some advice with respect to the 'standard' front brake conversion from drum to disk on a beetle
a. Can the Mk2 Golf calipers be used instead of the Mk1 Golf Calipers?
b. Want to retain my standard 5 hole rims. Is this a problem?

Mention standard conversion as I am referring to those commercially available and not having to be specially made up.

Get hold of Dave Rowley in Killarney Gardens. He makes them up in CPT. His number is in the suppliers section

I will have a look tommorrow regarding the 5 holes. But I'm pretty sure a standard rim is not going to fit. You are welcome to come and have a look at mine. I have disc's all round. By the way I am in Brackenfell which might be to far for you. Also speak to "Beam Bug" - aka "Beamish Buggies" 021 6964110.

We're currently working on a set-up for my speedster in order to keep the 5 lug bolt pattern and to do it properly, we're going to machine new hubs. Price for everything so far is about R3000-00.

Best way to do it than run stock golf hubs and then 4-5 hole adapters to run the stock wheels, as I want the front wheels to fit nicely under the fenders.
