Please tell us what, if any, changes you've made to your gears in your gearbox. Or are you running a standard 1600 box.

Hi

My uncle has got a nissan 1400, 278 cam, gas flowed and polished, intake match ported, adaptor to fit weber down draft, lightened flywheel, complete with alternator, radiator with fan and shroud and piping for front mount, adaptor for bolting engine, VW (1967 import) decklid which closes completely (does not show you got a Nissan motor), engineered right deck lid hing (allows fitment of weber with K&N pan filter) stainless steel free flow exhaust system that comes out the original left rear apron. Machined heat sensor with automatic fan switch for cooling.

Is anybody interested? Send PM if you are!

By poor i mean i got brakes but there isnt enough preasure and no ive only got front disks, ive got the following, 19mm Master cylinder, SS braided hoses front and rear. It feels as if its only starting to build preasure from the last 50mm of travel (without the back cover plate)

The only difference between yours and my original front disc's only is that you are using braided pipes. Iwould suggest you have a leak somewhere. Have you checked the brake line running inside the car along the tunnel. Are you carpets damp from brake fluid. Are you sure if there are no leaks, all the air is out of the system. In what condition is the master cylinder. This is a standard beetle one you have, I hope.

I have no carpets in anymore, and ive bled the brakes with over 750ml of brake fluid. I cant see any dampness anywhere, and the bit of pressure i get does not fade away when keeping it under preasure for a while, And no ive got a nissan 1500 motor in the back thus i wanted the disk brakes to be able to stop the car. but i have thought of 1 thing during the night, i never checked the play on the brake pad after installing the master cylinder (brand new out the box)

you need to set you plunger that goes in the master cylinder so the movement of the plunger is about 1 or 2 mm only by adjusting the plunger with the 8mm nut.
