I've found a guy with a horn button for my GT Deluxe wheel, but I don't want to commit (it's a LOT of money!) until I figure out what to do with the wheel...

I can't decide whether it's just a 'dent' in the one section, or whether it's deformed the entire wheel just a bit as well.

Do I try and straighten it slowly with a small bottle jack, some other way, or perhaps contemplate taking the OG leather off and cutting off and welding on a new ring?

Any ideas?

I would buy the button,cause the 2 together is worth a little fortune,even if it is not perfect.

I know, and I will probably take it. He's waiting on an OG EMPI gearknob in order to get me a badge for it. Waiting for photos...

...but the wheel still worries me.

The small parts always cost more.

bent from which way? Almost all steering wheels have a type of flat spot at the bottom (6 o clock)

OK, I just had another look...it seems that the top half of the wheel is bent backwards slightly, and the wheel has an centre-facing 'dent'...something like this: note the red areas.
